The House

A small, softly renovated home in a tiny Algarve village.

Casa do Vale is a semi-detached country house, recently restored with a quiet, modern hand — original where it matters, gently updated everywhere else. The kind of place where the floors are cool, the light is generous, and a day folds out at its own pace.

One peaceful bedroom with a double bed and warm linen, a contemporary shower-room with a washing machine tucked behind the door, and a sunlit kitchen ready for whatever you bring back from the market. The living room opens easily, with a sofa bed and a folding bed for a fourth — comfortable for a small family or two couples travelling together.

Step outside and the village reveals itself: a few cobbled lanes, white walls catching the afternoon sun, neighbours who say bom dia. The beaches are five to ten minutes by car, and yet the loudest thing some mornings is the kettle. It's a small house, honestly described — and that is exactly its charm.

The Neighbourhood

A tiny village. Two coasts. One easy base.

A quiet cobbled lane in Budens village, white walls catching the afternoon sun

Budens sits just inland from the Algarve's most beloved beaches — perfectly placed between the warm southern coast and the wild western shore. A few cobbled lanes, a small grocery, a local restaurant, and the kind of stillness you can only find in a village this size.

Walk twenty minutes into the village centre, drive a few minutes to the sea, or step across the road to the Santo António golf complex. A car is the honest way to see the area — every beach is close, but each one is its own small adventure.

Good to know

A few thoughtful answers.

Self check-in from 4:00 pm via a small lockbox by the door. We'll send you the code and arrival notes the day before — arrive at your own pace, no waiting required.
We honestly recommend it. The village is quiet and walkable, and Boca do Rio is reachable on foot — but the wider Western Algarve really opens up with a car. There's no convenient public transport from Faro Airport.
Up to four. The bedroom holds a couple comfortably; the living-room sofa opens into a bed for a third, and we keep a folding bed ready for a fourth — perfect for a small family or two couples travelling lightly.
Honestly, the house is at its best from spring to autumn. There's a small heating panel in the bedroom, but on the colder weeks of January and February we'd recommend a stay built more around the warmer hours of the day.
Boca do Rio is the closest — walkable for some, a few minutes by car for everyone. Salema is about five minutes, Burgau seven, and Lagos around twenty. The wild Sagres cliffs are roughly twenty-five minutes away.
Cancellation terms appear once you add your dates on Airbnb or Booking.com — they're flexible to moderate depending on the season. You'll see the exact terms before you confirm, and we're always happy to talk through them.
Children are very welcome — we keep a folding bed ready for a young one travelling with the family. Pets aren't part of the standard listing; please drop us a message before booking and we'll see what we can do.
